TS Fay update--mighty rainy here...
Well, Fay is still a tropical storm--for the moment--though now she's in the Florida Straits and might become a hurricane sometime today (a Cat. 1--not so fun, but it could be so very much worse).  The latest advisory shifted the path (again) slightly west, so we're out of the TS Warning area, but not out of the rain, so it's going to wet for today and tonight.  Not sure if we'll get the winds--and, who knows what the 2pm advisory will bring?  The storms turn on a dime, and do what they bloody well want to, no matter how the predictions go.  *shrug*  I drove to work this morning in a driving rain, and that's likely on and off all day--the so-called "feeder bands" that travel far ahead of the eye of the storm.  That little symbol on the map is deceiving--it's a convenience, easier to portray the tracks and show the eye--and is like the tip of the iceberg.  The eye may make landfall on the west coast, but the clouds/rain/winds can cover the rest of the lower half of Florida.  I really really don't want a repeat of the 2004 season.  I'm going to try putting in a pic, it's our front yard right after Hurricane Frances (which was the Unwelcome Houseguest That Wouldn't Leave: 30 hours to go through!  Argh!):

Hey, it worked!  :-)

I think the thing that bugs me most about the whole will it-or won't it tropical storm thing is I had to re-schedule my long overdue and highly anticipated hair appt. for tomorrow morning...bah...

Don't feel sad for my hair, I take very good care of every strand! ;) I haven't been in ages and it needs attention...though not sure what it means that the highlight of my week was going to be getting my hair done... LOL.

I do feel bad for your hair - you may have to wear a hat to let it stay clear of the rain but stay safe *hug*

Hee. My hair thanks you for your concern, LOL. And I very seriously thank you for concerns over the storm, it's pouring even more, probably heading home soon--hope the power stays on, at least, so I can be on the computer! *hug*

Bad lawn day?
Glad to hear Fay is (probably...) going to bypass you...except for the outlying storms, of course! Could you send some of that water out here to California? (We haven't had any rain since, oh, last January...). Trade you an earthquake! Or at least a good sharp aftershock!

Re: Bad lawn day?
Really bad lawn day. Bad day for old TV antennas, too. ;-) It's raining now, and it's going to keep raining for hours...and hours. And winds likely over night. Sure, you can some of the rain, but you can keep the earthquake--yikes! =:-O
